Our Commitment

The Royal Shihtzu Health Guarantee

Every puppy we place carries generations of careful breeding behind it, and we believe that heritage deserves protecting long after homecoming day. What follows isn't a page of fine print — it's a plain-spoken promise, grounded in real veterinary care and a lifetime of support.

01

What Travels Home With Every Puppy

Full Veterinary Clearance

A nose-to-tail wellness exam, including a listen to the heart and a check of the airway — an extra step we take seriously for a short-nosed breed.

Vaccination Record

An age-appropriate core vaccine series, started early and documented, so your vet can continue exactly where we left off.

Complete Deworming

A full internal and external parasite-prevention protocol carried out well before your puppy ever meets you.

AKC Registration & Pedigree

Complete American Kennel Club paperwork, with a documented lineage you can trace back through the generations.

Home-Raised Upbringing

Every litter is whelped and raised underfoot in our living room — never in a kennel, a barn, or an outdoor run.

Early Socialization

Daily handling and gentle exposure to household sounds, textures, children, and other pets, starting from the very first weeks.

02

Screened for What This Breed Faces

Shih Tzus are wonderfully sturdy little companions, but like any purebred dog, the breed carries a handful of inherited risks worth watching for — patellar luxation, hip laxity, certain eye conditions such as progressive retinal atrophy, and breathing sensitivity tied to their short muzzle. We don't wait for those issues to show up in a grown dog before we take them seriously.

Breeding pairs are evaluated before any litter is planned, with attention paid to joint soundness, eye health, and airway structure rather than coat color or markings alone. A puppy's papers can tell you where it came from; our screening process is what tells you where its health is headed.

We can't promise a life free of every bump along the way — no honest breeder can. What we can promise is that you will never have to face one of those bumps without us.

The Difference Is in the Details

The Royal Shihtzu Standard What Some Breeders Skip
Joint, eye & airway screening on breeding pairs Visual judgment only, no formal screening
Home-raised, family-socialized puppies Kennel-raised with minimal daily handling
Direct, personal support after placement Scripted claims process, if any at all
Photo & video updates before you take your puppy home Little to no contact before pickup
A relationship that lasts the life of your dog Contact ends once the sale is final
05

A Relationship, Not Just a Transaction

Our involvement doesn't end the moment your puppy climbs into the car. We remain your first call for the questions that come up in the weeks and years that follow — the kind that rarely wait politely for business hours.

Two months in or two years down the road, you're welcome to reach out. We built Royal Shihtzu on the belief that a good breeder stays a resource for the whole life of the dog, not just for the days surrounding the sale.

  • Nutrition & feeding guidance
  • Coat, ear & grooming coaching
  • Training & behavior milestones
  • Ongoing health check-ins

No Royal Shihtzu puppy ever passes through an auction, a broker, or a commercial mill. Every litter is raised in our own home, under the watch of people who learn each puppy's personality long before they settle on a name. That is the standard behind every guarantee we put in writing — and the standard we hold ourselves to, one puppy at a time.

Small in size. Boundless in loyalty.
